Proud of our city!

If you've ever been to Debrecen or would someday like to, you will love this article and photos of our adopted city:   CNN travel article about Debrecen   Note that the thermal spa it talks about is actually not outside the city, but is right along the tram tracks near the university.  Look it up if you're in town and have a few hours to relax and enjoy the water. :-)

Debrecen is a wonderful place to live and to serve, and we love the people!  Pray that the hearts of these friends will be open to the Gospel message, and that as the Good News takes hold here, the influence of this city will help spread it throughout Hungary, into neighboring countries, and around the world.

Time and temperature are displayed in the city center, festival booths in the background.

Near the city center.  People live in apartments above the shops along the street.

Pray for Debbie's Dad

Our teammate Debbie Cobb asks that you pray for her father, Robert Tice, who will be having surgery today at 9 a.m. (Eastern Time).

"[They will] remove suspicious spot(s) from his tongue, and also two in his throat," she writes.  "He has been battling this for about 20 years or so, with several surgeries. We are so thankful that Dad is in the care of a wonderful doctor who keeps a very close eye on him, and acts quickly whenever he sees anything that is not normal. Please pray for a good outcome, good report, and for a smooth recovery. Please also pray for my Mom, Elaine, as she waits, and also as she cares for Dad. Thank you so much for your prayers."

Thank you for lifting up the Tice family as they deal with this situation.

Looking Deeper

Who doesn't love to see the wonderful sights that a trip to Europe offers?   Let's not forget, though, that followers of Christ should look deeper.   Pray for the people of Europe!

Pray for Kimberly

Please lift up teammate Kimberly Hathcock and her family, as she is having surgery on her back right now. Pray that it will go very well, that she will be relieved of the pain she has been having, and that recovery will be quick and complete.  Ask that the Lord will get the glory through it all.

UPDATE:  Praise the Lord!  We have received word that the surgery went well.  Thank you so much for praying!  Please continue to pray for her as she recovers, and that through this experience opportunities will arise to share about the Lord with medical staff and others.
